Grand Hotel Reykjavik is wheelchair friendly and the hotel has 15 guest rooms that are handicap accessible and offer the guest all the comfort and elegance. The lobby, guest rooms, and showers are designed for wheel chair and handicap accessibility.
The hotelrooms at Grand Hotel are about 30 m2 and have barrier-free access to all areas of the room. The hotelrooms are on the 2nd to 13th floor that is accessible on all floors with a large elevator. The elevator is 1 meter wide (elevator is total 3,85 m2). The door to the hotel rooms is 1 meter wide and is with handles that is easy to open.
The bathroom is 4,42 m2 and the door to the bathroom is 90 cm wide. In three of the rooms the door opens out but in the rest it opens into the room but there the bathroom is relatively large. In three rooms there are only bathtubs with grab bars and the other rooms have a wide easy roll in shower. The towel are placed where it is easy to reach. It is a good space for a wheelchair to move around in the room. More information can be seen on the photos.
Other important and helpful information. The telephone is within a easy reach from the bed and the TV remote control is moveable.
